Skydance Interactive studio head Chris Busse revealed that there is more DLC for The Walking Dead: Saints and Sinners still to come.
With the release of The Walking Dead Saints and Sinners (Tourist Edition) on Quest last year, and the release of The Meatgrinder Update on Quest last month, developer Skydance Interactive has recently achieved "platform parity."
In other words, now that The Walking Dead Saints and Sinners on Oculus Quest has 'The Trail' horde mode, all available downloadable content and updates have been released on all available platforms.
So, naturally, the question now becomes: "when is The Walking Dead Saints and Sinners going to see new DLC?" Luckily, we may have (part) of the answer. In a recent interview with UploadVR, interviewer David Lagneaux asked Skydance Interactive studio head Chris Busse what is next for the virtual reality game:
“We certainly have more in the works, but we’re not prepared to announce anything yet. We’re working on more stuff, we’re not done with Saints & Sinners, for sure… here’s what I can tell you: stay tuned. You don’t have long to wait.”
Busse isn't giving much away, except for the fact that we "don't have long to wait." So, clearly, we're now left wondering just what the upcoming Saints and Sinners content could look like.
So, how about The Walking Dead Saints and Sinners Co-Op Multiplayer? Fans have been vocal for some time about their hopes for a Saints and Sinners co-op mode. However, Busse didn't seem so sure:
“Is [multiplayer] for sure not going to happen in Saints & Sinners? No. But I wouldn’t want people excited and expectant, because it’s not immediately about to happen… we want to capture that, but technologically it’s not trivial so it’s a balancing act.”
Or, perhaps, will Skydance release some story-based mission DLC content? Busse didn't confirm much there, either. Skydance Interactive have been asked repeatedly whether or not Story DLC is a possibility. Asked last year, Narrative Designer Ben Fuhrmann replied:
“The team is working on new content for the game as we speak! Between S&S support and the Quest port of the game we will be staying very busy indeed!”
What do you hope to see in The Walking Dead Saints and Sinners DLC? Finally a co-op mode or perhaps an expansion to the story? Or, like some, are you just holding out for a sequel? Let us know in the comments below.
No matter what happens, hopefully you won't have to kill zombies alone for much longer. The future for horde-bashing with your friends looks bright now that location-based VR firm SpringboardVR has been purchased by Arizona Sunshine developer Vertigo Games!
