Monarch Studio's fast-paced VR puzzle game is arriving next week for PC VR, with a Quest port arriving "soon after".

The "fast-paced puzzle solving virtual reality game" challenges you to solve a randomised set of 30 puzzles as fast as you can, with each playthrough offering new challenges.

It seems like every week we cover the launch of a new VR puzzle game, but rarely do they make as big a splash as Monarch Studio's Starcaller. The title, which bills itself as "easy to pick up and play, hard to master, but fun for everyone", has now had a solid release date set next week after a few weeks of Wishlist opening.

This fast-paced VR puzzle game has us excited for a few reasons. First, in these times of fear and plague, I refuse to turn down the opportunity to immerse myself in a good VR puzzler for a few hours. Second, it appears that the 30 levels the game has to offer will randomise, meaning that you should be able to get a few playthroughs out of this thing.

Finally, the game seems to promise big when it comes to difficulty progression. The "easy to pick up, hard to master" line implies that there may be more than meets the eye here.

If the promo images have you wondering "what kind of in-game lore drops could account for this level of mystic VR weirdness?" then don't worry, you're not alone. Lucky for us, the Steam page has a few clues:

The temple that was once pristine has become overgrown and disordered, you return to wade through the newly formed life and complete your life’s work; the ritual to the stars.
As the Starcaller you must race against the clock to restore as many temple walls as possible to their former glory. When night finally creeps in, you must complete the final ritual; send as many falling star fragments as possible back to the night sky.

The Steam page assures us that the game will be compatible with the big four: Valve Index, HTC Vive, Oculus Rift and Windows Mixed Reality headsets. Better yet, it looks like it will be playable Seated, Standing or even with Room-Scale.

As far as gameplay goes, I can't help but find myself reminded of Floor Plan, the zany VR puzzle game from Turbo Button. If you're looking for another great puzzler, the sequel - Floor Plan 2 - will drop on the 1st of April. I know that's only one day before Starcaller, but... nowadays I have a lot of time on my hands, so one day matters quite a bit.

You can pick up the awesome fast-paced puzzler on PC VR next week, starting on the 2nd of April 2021. If you're a Quest player, don't fret. Monarch have announced a Quest port "soon after." I can only assume that means it won't be too long.
