The new VR adventure game, Maskmaker, from the team behind A Fisherman’s Tale brings its own unique flavour of puzzle and adventure to SteamVR and PS VR.
Studio InnerspaceVR and publisher MWM Interactive will take you into a magical realm where you will have to take on the role of a Maskmaker’s apprentice. Across your journey you will have to learnt to craft and design many different magical masks. You can learn the magic of crafting masks to immerse yourself in the intriguing, enigmatic beings within the game. From mask-to-mask and puzzle-to-puzzle, explore your way through the "mask realm" to seek Prospero who appears to rule it and ultimately unravel the secret of his identity.
This is the longest game that the team has made so far. Previously they have stuck to smaller VR experiences. A Fisherman’s Tale was a fantastic but very short experience. It would be great if they could take the creativity behind that game and expand it.
The game is only out on PC VR devices and the PS VR headset, but it does look like the team behind the game is planning to take it to the Quest headsets. According to a blog poston the developer’s website:
“It's a bit frustrating not to have the game on the today’s most popular VR platform - Quest - day one, but we're pretty optimistic that if the game finds its audience, will find support later on for the extra-EXTRA work necessary to make it available on Quest. We're not afraid of yet another challenge. Ahead of us, the road feels still long and bumpy but also damn promising!”
