'The Trail' Comes to The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners' for Quest

It's been a hit on Quest, and now fans have yet another reason to be excited. Developer Skydance Interactive have announced that the wave-based 'The Trial' mode is coming to Quest next year, on the 20th of January 2021.

When The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners (Tourist Edition) launched on Quest earlier this year, it was met with great fanfare. Released for SteamVR and PSVR headsets before the pandemic kicked off, Skydance Interactive announced at Facebook Connect last month that a port of Saints & Sinners would be out in time for the launch of the Oculus Quest 2.

Now, Developer Skydance Interactive have upped the ante - announcing that next month The Meatgrinder Update is finally coming to Quest.

The biggest addition in The Meatgrinder Update contains, as the name would suggest, what could best be described as basically a zombie-filled meatgrinder. 'The Trial' is a new, wave-based horde mode which allows you to fight an endless onslaught of undead monsters with a barrage of different weapons.

The mode is in an arcade-style firefight, but that's not to say it's easy. It starts you off with only a screwdriver and enough 'bitecoins' (the currency, get it?) to purchase another weapon from the wide range that is available throughout the campaign.

The game's story-mode has been praised by fans and critics alike, taking place in a post-apocalyptic New Orleans:

Travel through the ruins of walker infested New Orleans as you fight, sneak, scavenge, and survive each day unravelling a city wide mystery within the iconic quarters. Encounter desperate factions and lone survivors who could be friend or foe. Whether you help others or take what you want by force, every choice you make has consequences. What kind of survivor will you be for the people of NOLA?

The Meatgrinder Update also adds a number of other features for the campaign. The update brings a new campaign difficulty too, called 'Story', perfect for noobs who are wanting a more cinematic experience. Furthermore, it adds a new katana known as "Absolution." Epic.

The Meatgrinder Update for The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners will be released in just under a month - on the 20th of January, 2021.

If you haven't grabbed the game yet, it is currently available in the Steam Winter Sale with 25% off: for just $30. You're welcome, Holiday shoppers.
