The Steam Winter sale is now in full flow. It's not too late to make up for any Christmas day disappointments with huge discounts on STAR WARS, Elite Dangerous, & more.
On Christmas Eve, VRFinal stuffed your overflowing stocking with some of the best discounts from this year's Steam Winter Sale. From Half-Life: Alyx to Boneworks, there really was something for everyone.
Christmas day has come and gone, but the Holiday Season continues. If you were left disappointed by any of the new games you've acquired since Xmas, it's not too late to make up the difference: here's a few more highlights from the Steam Winter Sale.
Whenever I think of Christmas the first thing that comes to mind is Star Wars. Don't ask me why, it's an issue I've wrestled with often in my therapist's office and dive bars across the country.
STAR WARS: Squadrons is a game I picked up on Black Friday but finally got round to diving in on Christmas Eve. It's truly a blast... er. The Steam Winter Sale slices 40% off the RRP, selling now for only $24.
There's something for everyone. I played a couple of matches and placed a Baby Yoda bobblehead on the dashboard of my Y-Wing. If you'd like to learn more about Squadrons, here's everything you need to know.
Epic Games have been trying to give away Elite Dangerous, the four-year old VR compatible Space Flight Simulator, at every opportunity this year. They even made the Horizons expansion, which allowed players to move from their space ships to ground rovers, free to all players.
Elite Dangerous is continuing to drum up support for their Odyssey expansion, which allows players to get out and play ground missions like an FPS. It's launching next year, but we already know that Odyssey will not be fully compatible with VR, reverting to a 2D game screen whenever you exit a vehicle. Even still, it's worth getting your hands on.
Especially because they've knocked a mind-boggling 75% off Elite Dangerous, available now for only $7.50.
Yup. Call me a twelve year old girl, I don't care. I like Five Nights at Freddy's. I liked the first game in 2014, I liked watching fan theories on YouTube. Admittedly, after that I sort of lost interest. But I've played Help Wanted and I think it's a lot of fun.
Even better, what was once a VR-only spin-off is now playable without a supported headset. Five Nights at Freddy's: Help Wanted is available now with 50% off RRP, selling in the Steam Winter Sale for only $15.
Budget Cuts is an absolute cracker. The oil-splatter filled action VR title originally launched in 2018, but hit PS VR earlier this year after a number of pandemic-related delays.
However, one of the main criticisms of the game (which, to be fair, was completely adored in every other regard) was that it was $29.99 for a game that didn't take too long to beat. The Steam Winter Sale seems to have sold that issue, with a 50% slice off RRP - selling now for only $15.
