Sequel to VR boxing hit Thrill of the Fight will include multiplayer

One of the best VR boxing titles, Thrill of the Fight, will be getting a sequel. The game was created by a small indie developed, Ian Fitz, and he recently announced that plans and early development were underway for the sequel.

Recently we also learned that the sequel would include a feature that many believed was sorely missing from the first game, multiplayer. According to Ian Fitz, the game will have a multiplayer mode from the day it launches.

Development on the game was announced early in 2020 after Fitz took to Reddit to announce his plans for the game. Then in December, Sealost Interactive, Fitz’s new studio for the sequel, replied to a Twitter comment with: “We are planning on having PVP be a day 1 feature for TotF2 as of right now.”

There have not been many other details released about the game. It is clearly very early in its development, but we do know that there will be some customisability in the game: “We currently plan on having some character customization features in the second game.”

Since the game is so early in its development cycle, we don’t have a release date yet. It is safe to assume that the game will probably not release any time soon. It may come out in late 2021 but it will more likely be pushed into 2022.

For now, gamers will have to satisfy their need to punch someone with the original Thrill of the Fight. It released on Oculus Quest in 2019 and with the release of the Oculus Quest 2, the team rolled out an update for the new headset that improved the visuals and unlocked a 90hz mode for the game.
