PlayStation VR users will soon be able to venture into the halls of Bloober Team's haunting horror game, taking control of a painter who is questing to finish their masterpiece.
Ghoul or Walrus? You decide! Layers of Fear VR will hit the PlayStation Store on April 29th, at a retail price of $19.99.
Now we finally have confirmation: a VR port of Bloober Team's horror game is coming to PSVR later this month.
Over the past few years, the game has been slowly ported onto pretty much every major platform. It first hit Steam, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One all the way back in early 2016. Since then, it's been ported to Nintendo Switch and various VR Platforms, including Oculus Quest, Oculus Rift, and HTC Vive.
The PSVR version will be the latest in a long line of VR editions, beginning with an abridged edition on the Google Daydream titled Layers of Fear: Solitude. But that being said, when the game was first ported to PC VR in 2019 it didn't meet rave reviews. It'll be interesting to see whether of not some of the criticisms previous versions have been addressed: namely, that there weren't enough accommodations made for VR's unique mechanics.
Layers of Fear VR will hit the PlayStation Store on April 29th, at a retail price of $19.99. The UploadVR leak noted that the listing included a requirement for the PSVR Aim Controllers, but you'll just need your PlayStation VR headset and PlayStation Move controllers to get in on the action. Keep an eye on VR Final for our upcoming review of Layers of Fear when it hits PS VR later this month.
