Population One developer Big Box VR have finally revealed details about their upcoming Season One event.
We'll be used to the 'seasons' associated with today's hottest Battle Royale shooters, and virtual reality free-for-all shooter Population One is no exception.
A bunch of new features have been teased. So, when can we expect Population One Season One to launch? What new weapons can you get your hands on? Here's everything you need to know:
When is Population One Season One dropping?
The Population One Season One event has been titled 'Uprising', and explores a band of rebels dubbed 'The Seekers', who are pushing a revolt against Population One's corporate overlords.
We're not quite sure yet exactly when the Season will launch, but we do know it'll launch later this month. However, we do know that Population One Season One will last for 10-weeks.
New Weapons In Population One Season One
A new addition to the game will be the so-called 'Seeker Credits', which players can gift to one another to unlock season-specific items.
These items include: a high-powered LMG, or Light Machine Gun. This will be a support class weapon that can be used to "suppress enemy fire so squadmates can flank for the win."
The Seasons will also introduce melee weapons to Population: One for the first time. These will include a katana and a knife, among others. These may seem like small changes, but the Population One Season One teasers claims that "combat will never be the same."
Map Updates With Population One Season One
BigBox VR's CEO Chia Chin Lee discussed in a statement how Population One Season One will continue to build on the game's unique movement mechanics:
"The Season One update builds upon our Vertical Combat System to give players even more ways to play and create social connections, only possible in VR. We can’t wait to share more details soon on what’s coming in Season One."
As the Season progresses, we know that the environment, map and world will also begin to change. The most dramatic of these changes will be having access to the central Tower for the very first time.
What exactly is inside? We will need to wait and see.
What do you think of the Season One teasers so far? Are you excited to check it out? Let us know in the comments.
Population: One isn't the only game getting new content. Rumour has it that The Walking Dead: Saints and Sinners may be getting new content pretty soon.
