Mark your calendars for the first ever Oculus Gaming Showcase

Oculus has announced their first ever Oculus Gaming Showcase. It looks like it will be an online presentation similar to the likes of the Nintendo Direct. They will be presenting updates on games heading to the Oculus suite of headsets and perhaps announcing some new ones.

So far Oculus has announced only three developers that will be showing off some games at the presentation. Developers like Cloudhead Games, Ready At Dawn, and ILMxLAB are just a few of the developers participating but the only three announced.

This means that we will be seeing some updates on games like Pistol Whip, Lone Echo II, and Star Wars: Tales from the Galaxy’s Edge. Personally, I am pretty stoked at the Lone Echo II news. The first instalment was perhaps the first completely immersive VR game that I tried out years ago. I am looking forward to seeing what the team can do with a game that isn’t free to play.

According to their blog post on the presentation:

“This is our first event wholly dedicated to the stellar games across the Oculus Platform. You can expect new updates to fan-favorite titles, never-before-seen footage from some unreleased games, and a few surprises in store.”

We don’t know any other games that might be showing up at the presentation. With the growing interest around them, there may be a chance that the upcoming Oculus-published Splinter Cell & Assassin’s Creed VR games from Ubisoft may be making an appearance.

If you want to check out the presentation yourself, you can tune in on Twitch, Facebook, and YouTube in the US and Japan at 3:00 pm PT on April 21.
