'HITMAN 3' Launch Trailer Drops Ahead Of Tomorrow's Release

Ahead of its long-awaited release tomorrow, IO Interactive have release the Launch Trailer for the new steal assassin title HITMAN 3. The title will be available on the 20th of January, 2021.

This one has been a long time coming. We first reported that HITMAN 3 would have a VR mode when pre-orders dropped last September. Since then, I've been giddy in my boots to get my hands on this thing.

Now, a day before release, developer IO Interactive has finally dropped the Official Launch Trailer for HITMAN 3 - and it even features a bit of a cinematic twist.

We've known for some time that the developers were hoping to put story at the fore with HITMAN 3. In a Developer Insights video released last week titled 'Shaping the Narrative', main writer Michael Vogt explained that had been the journey of the franchise:

In HITMAN, the story was really just kind of a background presence, and I think many players didn't even take much notice of it. And then from HITMAN 2 onwards [it] becomes much more front and centre.

The game follows the exploits of Agent 47, a globe-trotting stealth assassin with a pension for killing people in hilariously clever ways. HITMAN 3 will serve as the culmination of the 'World of Assassins' trilogy narrative, where Agent 47 will wrestle with those responsible for his own existence.

However, this time players will not only have the opportunity to experience the HITMAN story like never before. They will also be able to play the game on PS VR for the very first time.

If you need any more information you're in luck: we've already published everything you need to know about HITMAN 3 VR.

I'd forgotten about HITMAN 3's impending release, if I'm honest. But it couldn't have come at a better time, given that The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners new Horde Mode 'The Trail' has been delayed on Oculus Quest.
