Halloween has been SAVED! Blair Witch is coming to VR

Last year, Bloober Team's Blair Witch hit Windows, Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch last year to positive reviews and - in the process - gave everyone a series of unbearably terrifying nightmares. It has haunted our dreams ever since.

Well, just as the crushing disappointment of an approaching Halloween in the world of Covid-19 settles in, breaking news has come which will turn All Hallow's Eve on it's big orange head:

Blair Witch is coming to VR.

Wait... This franchise was basically invented for VR. Why didn't anyone think of this before? (Credit: Bloober Team)

However, don't be deterred if you've already braved the experience once before. Blair Witch VR will include a whole bunch of brand new features. You will be able to better interact with the items and the environments around you, for example, contributing to a markedly more immersive experience.

The game will also feature exclusive "spine-chilling in-game events" and "additional encounters with the mysterious forces that lurk in the forest." 'Mysterious forces'? One word: NOPE.

However, most importantly (and thanks to our friends over at the Verge), we know Blair Witch: Oculus Quest Edition will allow you to pet your dog. You can even feed him treats and play fetch. So if you're not sure about the whole nightmarish-ritualistic-murder angle, it might be worth grabbing just to hang out with your trusty pal Bullet.

So there you have it, Halloween is saved! Don't thank me until after you've played it, though.

And if unadulterated terror isn't your scene, you could try your hand with David Attenborough's Micro Monsters which launched on Oculus TV today.

Blair Witch: Oculus Quest Edition will be available for download from October 29th, right in time for Halloween.
