HTC Vive seems to have revealed further glimpses at their soon to be announced new VR headsets.
Just a week or so out from the start of VIVECON 2021 - HTC's highly anticipated event which is set to feature the announcement of multiple new VR headsets - things are really beginning to heat up.
Three gifs have been doing the rounds today, each appearing to show a different angle from (one of?) HTC's upcoming Vive VR headsets. They purport to be from a leaked promotional email by HTC.
The first shows the bottom of a headset's front panel, appearing to show a stormtrooper-like chin.
The image appears to show a decorative grill. Whatever it is for, no one seems to be able to tell.
The final image appears to show another angle of the corner-tracking camera we saw teased last week.
This essentially helps us build a better image of what the soon to be headset could look like. We already have the teaser close-up from HTC released last month, which appears to be a Quest-like corner-mounted tracking camera.
Of course, that is supposing that all these screenshots are from the same headset. As we already know, we should be expecting more than one next-gen headset, meaning that we could be seeing separate snapshots from more than one.
We've been anticipating (at least one) new HTC Vive headset for quite some time. At least since March where, in an interview with TeliportMe, President of Vive in China Alvin Wang Graylin described an upcoming "Next-Gen standalone" which would be a significant upgrade "from every perspective." He also described it as "better than what's out there from any vendor today."
